I love Curt Gowdy. he was the best. Boy he was drunk as hell that day. He calls Matt Blair's blocked punt a Pittsburgh TD LOL!. This is the way football is meant to be played. Glen Edwards hit on John Gilliam would've drawn a 15 yeard penalty in today's, pussy, NFL! This game contained some of the greatest players in NFL history. I believe there were 12 HOF'ers combined!

The tale of two teams... Vikings in any game other than the Super Bowl were the best... but when in the Super Bowl just the worst.

Thanks so much for posting this--can't tell you how cool it was to see this original broadcast with the commercials, too. Very much appreciate it (I'm sure it took you some time to put it up) and look forward to your other Super Bowl posts!

this was the best vikings super bowl. They did come close. I was not born until 1981, so I get to see Tarkenton, Bud Grant, Alan Page. If that Vikings team had Cris Carter and Randy Moss, the Steelers would have lost!

In Super Bowl 9 the Vikings defense played well but Tarkenton had a sore arm in that game and was terrible.
