Description: I've been working with my horse, Rapport, to get him jumping up to 4 ft. 6 in. We're getting there. This is video of Rapport and doing a 3' 9" fence, then a 4'3" jump, and finally a 4'4" jump -- a personal best for us. We're taking it slowly since I want him to have confidence with every fence -- and I don't want to get thrown into a fence either (lest I might end up in the 'Horse Jumping Gone Wrong' video)! |

jennizlefoshizle ::: Favorites 2008-01-06 08:01:29 great horse, yet again. tehe. one thing that i noticed on your other video that i forgot to comment on is that you need to sit and drive more with your pelvis. one thing you'll notice with grandprix riders is that their but does not leave the saddle until their horse is jumping, even if their horse isn't a refuser. if you sit like this, you actually help your horse by putting his weight off of his forhand, and onto his hind which gives him better propulsion to jump better and higher. __________________________________________________

wbrucelamb ::: Favorites 2007-12-02 20:49:29 Thanks. 'Handsome' would be appropriate. :-) He's my pal. A bit lame lately -- pulled a tendon in a paddock whilst playing with his buddies. But he's on the mend. No jumping for a couple of months, though, which sucks since I like to jump in the arena during the winter months. Oh, well -- better to keep him healthy for the long term. Thanks for the comment! __________________________________________________
